Vigilance searches at Kaleshwaram offices in Irram Manzil, Medigadda, Karimnagar

HYDERABAD: With the State Government ordering an inquiry into the sagging of piers of the Medigadda barrage under the multi-stage Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP), the Telangana Vigilance and Enforcement Department’s officers on Tuesday started conducting searches at the office of the Engineer-In-Chief, Irrigation and Command Area Development Department C Muralidhar.
Simultaneous searches were being conducted at the Kaleshwaram Corporation’s office at Jala Soudha in Irram Manzil in Hyderabad. The Officers reportedly seized certain documents on the beleaguered project.
Searches were also made at the Irrigation Department’s office in Medigadda of Mahadevpur division in Jayasankar Bhupalpally about Medigadda Barrage and Kannepally pump house, and another team was looking for documents regarding KLIP and Medigadda Barrage at the Lower Manair Dam (LMD) office in Karimnagar.
Ten teams consisting of engineers and officers from the vigilance department were taking part in these searches.
