ZAHEERABAD: A married woman, mother of two children, was allegedly gang-raped near Zaheerabad of Sangareddy district. The heinous crime, which, the police suspect, happened on Friday night came to light on Sunday, causing outrage and evoking widespread condemnation.
According to some reports, the horrific incident happened at a desolate area in Didigi village near Zaheerabad. The police suspect that the 24-year-old woman was brought to Zaheerabad in an auto-rickshaw by unidentified persons before she was gang-raped. The victim was identified as a resident of Secunderabad.
The police also suspect that the victim could have been either drugged or forced to consume alcohol before being taken to Zaheerabad in the three-wheeler.
Reportedly, the victim was commuting from Kukatpally KPHB colony to Zaheerabad on Friday night before falling in the hands of the predators. The perpetrators of the heinous crime had abandoned the woman on the road. On Saturday morning, villagers of Didigi noticed her lying on the road in an unconscious state.
The police revealed that the woman was married and was a mother of two children but had been estranged from her husband for the last few years. The police shifted the victim to Sakhi Centre in Sangareddy.
