HYDERABAD: Former Minister and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao on Friday expressed his gratitude to activists and leaders who attended the BRS meeting in large numbers, stating that it reflected the strength of the BRS. He emphasised that defeat was not permanent and should be seen as the beginning of victory.

Addressing at the Bhuvanagiri Parliament segment meeting on Friday, he criticised the Congress government for not fulfilling its election promises and accused them of lying during the campaign. He mentioned incidents where Congress party ministers ill-treated the BRS leaders for questioning the government for not disbursing the Rythu Bandhu funds. He found fault with minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for sending ZP Chairman Sandeep Reddy outside when he asked about the Rythu Bandhu.

Rao also expressed concerns about the handover of irrigation projects to KRMB, which he believed, would cause severe damage to Nalgonda by depriving it of irrigation and drinking water and challenged Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to fight for the Nalagonda irrigation projects.

He accused the Congress of spreading false propaganda about a relationship between BRS and BJP. He claimed that BRS was responsible for the defeat of Bandi Sanjay, Etela Rajender and Raghunandan Rao.

The Siddipet MLA questioned the government's delay in fulfilling promises such as loan waivers for farmers and increased pensions for the elderly and disabled. He urged the public to take these issues to the forefront and discuss them in villages to highlight Congress's failures.

He highlighted the freezing of Dalit Bandhu funds in banks and directed the workers to fight hard and show their strength in local elections. He stated that BRS was a party that fights for the interests of Telangana, unlike Congress and BJP, which work for their interests.

Rao expressed confidence that the Congress would face a similar fate in Telangana as in Karnataka, where the people rejected them in multiple MP seats. He urged the workers to continue fighting for the welfare of the people, regardless of whether they are in power or the opposition, as BRS is on the side of the people.
