Hyderabad overtakes Bengaluru in IT jobs, tops India charts

HYDERABAD: The year 2022 saw a 4,50,000 increase in employment in the Indian IT sector, with Hyderabad leading the way with 1,53,000 new jobs. Bengaluru came in second with 1,48,500 new jobs, while Mumbai City added 54,000 new jobs.

Chennai was the last in terms of IT employment, with only 22,500 jobs, compared to Pune City's contribution of 40,500 jobs. According to the Quess IT staffing report, around 31,000 jobs were created in the Delhi NCR and Tier 2 cities.

The survey found that among all IT positions, data analytics jobs are in the highest demand in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, while Java technologies are most in demand in Pune.

According to the Quess report, IT metro hubs in India dominated hiring activity for top digital skills across geographical locations. Among all of India's IT hubs, Hyderabad is the most popular (at 34%), followed by Bengaluru (at 33%), Mumbai (at 12%), Pune (at 9%) and Chennai (5% ).
