HYDERABAD: Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao has gone through an emotional moment on Monday. When a girl student, who he had helped during her studies, flaunted four offer letters from different companies on completion of her graduation, the minister was pleasantly surprised when she met him.

His heart must have surely brimmed with content and satisfaction, for a gesture he had done a few years ago bore fruit and came up in flying colours with success.

Rudra Rachana, a B.Tech. graduate, who had lost both of her parents when she was young and who was unsure of her future as she lacked the funds to pursue her B.Tech., is now a proud engineering graduate and has received four job offers from top MNCs, thanks to KTR, who supported Rachana by funding her B.Tech education.

Rachana, who is grateful to KTR for his assistance, called on him on Monday at Pragati Bhavan and expressed her gratitude for his financial assistance in completing her education.

Rachana presented Minister KTR with a custom-made silver Rakhi that she had purchased with her savings as a token of her gratitude.

Rachana is a native of the Thandriyal village in the Jagtial district's Kathalapur Mandal. She and her sister had to overcome numerous obstacles because they lost both of their parents when they were young. Rachana was raised in an orphanage until she finished high school.

She then continued her education by enrolling at a polytechnic college in Hyderabad while staying at a state home run by the government in Yousufguda.

An orphan from a low-income family, Rachana obtained provisional admission to the prestigious CBIT, Gandipet, in July 2019. But she didn't have enough money to pay for the college and hostel. A tweet seeking financial assistance was posted three days prior to the fee payment deadline.

Soon, Minister KTR came to her rescue. He met Rachana and her relatives and extended financial assistance for the college expenses. Rachana completed her three years at CBIT in June 2022, earning a B Tech in Computer Science.

Rachana, who was unsure about her future after B.tech, landed four job offers in her final year.

Minister KTR, who became emotional while listening to Rachana, promised to assist her in her future endeavours, including her dream of becoming a civil servant.

Rachana has successfully overcome many challenges throughout her life. She was an inspiration for youngsters from impoverished families and rural places, said Minister KTR.
