HYDERABAD: A case of embezzlement of funds amounting to Rs 4.75 crore and defrauding customers has been registered against a manager at the State Bank of India of Sanath Nagar branch.

According to reports, the accused identified as Karthik Roy working as a bank manager allegedly conducted unauthorised transactions by withdrawing fixed deposit money from customers' accounts without their knowledge.

The incident came to light after several victims have lodged complaints at the Sanath Nagar police station, stating that approximately Rs 4.75 crore have been stolen from their accounts. Additionally, a woman working as Software Engineer complained that around Rs. 48 lakhs were transferred from her account.

The police conducted an investigation into the incidents, registered a case and are investigating it further.
