HYDERABAD: The light and sound show installed at the historic Arts College of Osmania University is going to enthrall people every evening with a visual treat.

The Light and Sound show and Dynamic Lighting, will capture the journey of Osmania University and showcase the lives of the unsung heroes, using dynamic facade lighting, laser effects, and immersive 3D visuals.

Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, G. Kishan Reddy, on Monday inaugurated a lights and sound laser show program at the historic Osmania University (OU) Arts College building.

The show, set up with a cost of Rs.11.8 crore, showcases the university's history, its role in the formation of Telangana state, and the Indian freedom struggle through laser lights.

As many as 600 lights have been fitted, offering more than 16 million colour combinations using advanced technology and the DMX protocol.

Minister G. Kishan Reddy stated that such projects aimed to inform the younger generation about local culture and traditions across the country. The light and sound system installed in the OU Arts College building was a symbol of cultural richness and artistic self-expression, he added.

The Minister emphasised the significance of Osmania University as the birthplace of various movements since 1907 and acknowledged the many notable individuals it produced. On this occasion, Reddy recognised and honoured those who had contributed to the development of the university and lauded the role of the tourism department in educating the current generation about the lives of influential figures from history.

He vowed to contribute more to the development of Osmania University, which had a rich history of producing intellectuals and celebrities. Acclaimed Tollywood actor Sai Kumar expressed his delight in providing voice-over for the sound show at this university.

OU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ravinder thanked Minister G. Kishan Reddy for supporting cultural infrastructure at Osmania University. He said installing laser lights in the Arts College brought a new art form to the university. Former VCs Prof. DC Reddy, Tirupati Rao, film actor Sai Kumar, GHMC Deputy Mayor Mote Srilatha Shobhan Reddy, OU Registrar Prof. P. Lakshminarayana, OSD Redya Naik, and others also participated in the event.
