KTR, Komatireddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy take oath as MLAs, BJP stays away

All the newly elected BJP MLAs stayed away from oath-taking, opposing the nomination of AIMIM Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi as Pro-tem Speaker.

HYDERABAD: Former Minister and BRS working President KT Rama Rao took oath as an MLA in the third Assembly on Thursday. Pro-tem Speaker Akbaruddin Owaisi administered the oath to KTR who could not attend the oath-taking ceremony held on December 9 due to the ill health of his father and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Members of Parliament Komatireddy Venkatreddy and Nallamada Uttam Kumar Reddy of the Congress and Kotha Prabhakar Reddy of the BRS also took the oath. They resigned from their MP seats and took oath on Thursday. Kadiam Srihari, Koushik Reddy Padi, T Padma Rao, and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy were among the newly elected MLAs who took oath on Thursday.
