TIRUPATI: In a 'cute' incident at Tirumala, a man carried his wife on his shoulders and climbed 70 steps while trekking the seven hills through stairway to reach the temporal abode of Lord Venkatateswara in Tirumala.

Varada Veera Venkata Satyanarayana (Sattibabu) and his family chose to go to the Tirumala temple through 'Alipiri metlu' (Alipiri steps), 3550 steps which devotees trek to fulfil their vows to the god.

While Sattibabu was climbing the stairs fast, his wife, Lavanya, jocularly challenged him to carry her and climb. To her pleasant surprise, he actually lifted her up on to his shoulders and climbed 70 steps at a stretch.

Onlookers were amused and shot the romantic scene in their phones. The video also went viral on social media after people learnt that they were not newlyweds. In fact, the couple have been married for 24 years and even have grandchildren. He vowed to take a darshan of the Lord with his extended family too, if his son-in-law Gurudatta got a decent software job. As the desire was fulfilled, Sattibabu took 40 people of his family Ina bus to Tirupati. This funny, yet romantic, incident occurred on this occasion.
