HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP MLA Tiger Raja Singh was placed under house arrest on Thursday to prevent him from visiting Chengicherla village in Uppal. The village recently witnessed a communal clash after Holi celebrations, during which DJ music was played outside a mosque on March 24.

The clash erupted between two groups in Chengicherla village, located in Ghatkesar mandal, when some individuals objected to the playing of music near a place of worship. The police have registered two cases against those allegedly involved in the altercation.

Reportedly, the MLA had intended to visit Chengicherla to distribute groceries among Hindu families affected by the incident.

In a video statement released on Thursday, Raja Singh said that there is no difference between the governance of former Telangana Chief Minister KCR and current Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He asserted that attacks on Hindus continue under Revanth Reddy's administration, reminiscent of incidents during KCR's tenure. He expressed concern about the challenges in filing cases against the perpetrators and emphasised the injustice of attacks on Hindus by large groups of people.
