MAHBUBNAGAR: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief K Chandrashekar Rao has said that the Congress will be driven to a third position in the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana.

Addressing a public meeting in Mahbubnagar on Friday during a roadshow under the ongoing ‘Poru Baata Bus Yatra’ KCR said that both the national parties were trying to damage regional parties. “While the Congress says that the BRS is the B team of the BJP, they do friendly politics here in Telangana,” KCR pointed out.

Urging the voters to vote wisely, KCR said that he introduced the Rytu Bandhu scheme to strengthen the debt-ridden farmers financially, the Revanth Reddy Government in the State was trying to set limits on the acreage to escape from paying the benefit to farmers.

“Revanth Reddy will soon scrap the Rytu Bandhu scheme and Rytu Bima insurance. Now he is planning to set a five-acre limit. So, what about the farmer with six acres? Are they not children of Telangana,” KCR pointed out.

KCR wanted the voters to be prepared for a fight if the Revanth Reddy Government failed to implement the Rs 2 lakh crop loan waiver, Rs 500 bonus, Rs 2,500 for women, one tola gold under the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme, and Rs 4,000 Asara pension.

“On the other hand, consider the BJP which has deceived Telangana from day one. Narendra Modi made 100 promises but fulfilled none. What did Beti Padao Beti Bachao, Make in India, Sab Ka Sabka Vikas, Digital India, Ache Din Sache Din, Amrut Kal, Atmanirbar Bharat, Jan Dhan Yojana, Fasal Bima and the Viswaguru status do for you,” KCR said.

He reminded the people of Mahbubnagar that the BJP Government at the Centre refused to accord national status to the Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme. “While Narendra Modi slapped a Rs 5,000 crore fine on the BRS Government for not fixing meters to agricultural pump sets, the Telangana CM calls him ‘Bade Bhai’.” He said that the Mahbubnagar BJP candidate DK Aruna instead of protecting the people of her region offered ‘Mangala arati’ to Raghuveera Reddy who was taking away Telangana water to Andhra Pradesh.

He assured the Muslims that the BRS always nurtured secular values and would ensure that their interests would be protected at any cost, by restricting BJP from coming to power.
