HYDERABAD: A video of a young woman suffering a dog bite out of nowhere right in front of a shopping mall in Hyderabad is going viral on social media. The incident, which happened outside QMart in Khajaguda recently, was captured by a CCTV camera installed in the vicinity.

Of late, the Internet is flooded with several horrific visuals showing attacks by packs of street dogs in various parts of the two Telugu states. In most of them, the stray dogs could be seen targeting young children, from toddlers to 10-year-olds, due to their vulnerability to defend themselves.

The latest video makes for a bizarre viewing for the following factors: It was a lone-dog attack on a group of three grown-up women. The animal nonchalantly loitered around the premises before grabbing the leg of the victim. Also, the canine showed no signs of aggression until the very last second before it unleashed the attack on one of the three women heading towards the mall. And after inflicting its powerful bite on the hapless woman’s leg, it coolly fled the scene, like a ‘supari killer’ does after executing his murderous attack.

Even as the video had Netizens commenting that the stray dog appeared to be on a ‘tacit mission’, the incident only added to the citizens’ woes amid growing incidence of street dog attacks.
