HYDERABAD: Former BRS MLA from Wardhannapet Aroori Ramesh on Wednesday made it clear that he had no plans to change his loyalty to the BJP and denied reports that he was kidnapped by the BRS leaders from his home.

Accompanied by former Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao and former MLA Basvaraj Saraiah, Aroori Ramesh reached the Nandi Nagar residence of BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday to participate in the Warangal Lok Sabha review meeting.

“I have no plans to change to the BJP. I was not kidnapped by anyone. How can you say that? BRS leaders came for me and we arrived here for the meeting,” Ramesh told media after reaching KCR’s residence here.

Later he attended the meeting chaired by KCR.

Earlier, a high drama unfolded when Ramesh, who was preparing to address a press conference at Hanmakonda, was leaving hjis residence. While the BJP cadre was hoping that he would declare his decision to quit the BRS and join the BJP, Dayakar Rao and Saraiah reached there and took Ramesh along with them in their vehicle.

While the BJP cadre tried to obstruct the BRS leaders from taking Ramesh along with them, a few even raised ‘Jai Shriram’ slogans. They argued that Ramesh had met BJP senior leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday and announced his decision to join the BJP, which Ramesh had already denied.

However, when the convoy reached Pembarthi in Jangaon, BJP cadre stopped the vehicle and dragged Ramesh out of Dayakar Rao’s car. They tried to forcefully take Ramesh along with them which Ramesh vehemently resisted. In the melee, Ramesh’s shirt was torn. However, Ramesh continued his journey to Hyderabad where he was supposed to attend the review meeting of Warangal Lok Sabha Constituency with the BRS chief.

Meanwhile, another senior leader and former Minister Kadiyam Srihari also denied reports that he was quitting the BRS.
