According to the ACB officials, Shamirpet mandal Thodeti Satyanarayana, of the Medchal Malkajgiri district was trapped in the Mandal Revenue Office on Tuesday.
HYDERABAD: In another major catch, Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught the Tahsildar of Shamirpet mandal.
According to the ACB officials, Shamirpet mandal Thodeti Satyanarayana, of the Medchal Malkajgiri district was trapped in the Mandal Revenue Office on Tuesday. Along with the Tahsildar, his driver P. Bhadri was also caught red handed.
The ACB said that the Tahsildar had accepted a bribe of Rs.10,00,000 from one Movva Ramaseshagiri of Hyderabad.
Director-General of ACB C V Anand posted on social media platform “X” that the Tahsildar demanded Rs.30 lakh for processing the pattadar passbook. While Rs.10 lakh was already collected, Rs. 10 lakh more now and an equal amount after the “work is over” was how the deal was bargained.
The Tahsildar allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs.10 lakh in gratification for writing a report in favour of Ramaseshaguri for his pattadar passbook and forward the same to the office of the Collector and District Magistrate of Medchal-Malkajgiri for issuance of the passbook belonging to the landholding of Ramaseshagiri.
The whopping amount, according to Ramasehagiri, who had lodged a complaint with the ACB, was a normal procedure and no undue favour was sought for delivering the same.
The ACB urged people to lodge any complaint of corruption to toll free number
1064 in respect of any State government official.
The ACB would verify every case diligently to trap the officials concerned. The ACB is also expediting the probes into the various cases whoever was caught red handed in corruption cases.
