The victim lodged a police complaint with the Trimulgherry police station the same day.

Efforts to reach out to the customer care proved futile. The police also have been making efforts to reach out to the customer care, but the executives are acting funny and keeping the police officers too waiting for long time and are disconnecting the phones.

When Amit Sharma tried to reach out to the customer care number to pursue his grievance of attack by two delivery executives at his residence — Flat No.306 in Gayatri VR Residency at Lothununta, the customer care department had blocked his number.

However, the watchman of the apartments had the phone number of the delivery boys recorded. Based on that, Sharma tried to contact one of the delivery executives but the call was rejected repeatedly by the accused.

His name was identified as Brahma Reddy through ‘True Caller’ app.

The same was forwarded to sub-inspector of Trimulgherry police station Rajasekhar Reddy who has been investigating into the case.

The SI is trying to contact the Amazon company office. Meanwhile, the police launched a manhunt to catch Brahma Reddy. Police parties were sent to Amazon’s delivery godown in Alwal to identify and get the two assailants for questioning.

Meanwhile, the victim got the CC TV footage of the delivery executives and the subsequent attack. The police are looking into the details of the footage. The photographs of the two attackers were supplied by Sharma to the police.

It may be recalled that Amit R Sharma had ordered a recliner sofa set on January 19 on Amazon online and left delivery instructions that the item be delivered between 11 am and 7 pm on any day.

Giving least importance to the delivery instructions, Amazon had it delivered at 8 am on January 24 and the item was dropped off at the car park area of the apartment while the customer lives on the third floor. The delivery executives did not inform the customer about the delivery.

As the customer would not move it alone and didn’t want any to risk the theft of the item, he took the help of the watchman and two others and shifted it to his apartment. When he lodged a complaint with the customer care of Amazon about the ignorance of delivery instructions, the two delivery executives came to him the next day and picked up an altercation. They also punched him on his face and thrashed him and pushed his 67-year-old mother who had intervened to prevent the attack.

The police investigation is on.
