HYDERABAD: BRS Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiam Srihari has said that the Congress leaders are visiting Medigadda barrage out of fear of repercussions due to the public meeting of BRS in Nalgonda.

Addressing media on Tuesday at the Telangana Bhavan, Srihari said, "Today we are holding a public meeting in Nalgonda district to protest against the stance of the Congress Government and for protecting the Krishna waters. Out of fear for this meeting, the Congress Government spread lies in the Assembly yesterday and decided to divert attention today by visiting Medigadda."

Criticising that the Congress Government for allegedly handing away the rights of Krishna waters to the Centre, Srihari said, "The BRS Government had been blocking the Center's obstruction on Telangana's waters for the past ten years. However, the Congress Government handed over the management of the Krishna and Godavari rivers to its respective boards in just two months of coming to power.

"If our party did not raise its voice against this decision, the future for Telangana's poor would turn dark. KCR took up the responsibility to explain to the people of Telangana about the water issues and the corresponding losses if the rivers are handed over to the Centre. This meeting is just the beginning which will intensify further," Srihari added.
