VEENAVANKA: “In just five months of miserable and retrograde rule of Congress Government, people have decided to bring back the BRS. Now the onus is on us to start the reconstruction of Telangana,” former Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) said.

Addressing a public meeting in Veenavanka on Sunday, KCR recalled how he undertook to repair the damage the region underwent during the combined rule. He said that he was pained to notice that the Congress Government was undoing whatever he had built.

“We focused on bringing investments to the newborn State. I came to know that a company with Rs 1,000 crore investment potential left Telangana for Tamil Nadu and the Aluminum and plastic industries are unhappy with power holidays and planning to shift base to other states,” KCR said.

He said that in just five months the Congress Government not only damaged Telangana’s image but hurt the agricultural sector the backbone of Telangana’s economy.

“During the BRS rule paddy was procured by the Government through 7,500 centres even though the Government incurred a loss of Rs 750-800 crore. Even discoloured paddy was purchased considering the welfare of the farmers.

Calling upon the BRS cadre to work with dedication despite the loss in Assembly elections, KCR said that one must work for people, whether win or lose the elections.

“Now Telangana has rebelled. This Government stopped giving KCR kits, nutrition kits, there is a decline in institutional deliveries, Air-conditioning not working in Warangal MGM hospital, and worst conditions are prevailing in Adilabad Government hospital,” KCR pointed out

He said that lack of command of governance and empathy towards the common man failed the Congress Government in the State. He said that BRS would have to start all over again after coming back to power, whether it would be now or after some time.

Urging people to elect not less than 14 MPs in the Lok Sabha elections, KCR said that BRS MPs would vehemently oppose any move that would hurt the benefits of the State.

“Narendra Modi sent a proposal to Revanth Reddy for taking Godavari water to Tami Nadu. The Chief Minister kept mum. Modi tried the same with me but I said first clear Telangana’s share in Godavari then talk,” KCR recalled.

Exuding confidence that BRS would be winning the Karimnagar MP seat, KCR said that the Huzurabad region helped BRS politically by electing the then-TRS leaders in the local body elections after the formation of the party.

After the meeting n here, KCR left for Jagityal where he would be addressing another public meeting. He squeezed in Veenavanka to compensate for the 48 hours he had lost due to the ban on speech by the ECI.

Later addressing a street corner meeting in Jagtial, KCR said that Rahul Gandhi misled the people of Telangana during his public meeting in Nirmal. “Rahul claimed that every woman in the state receives 2,500 rupees monthly under the Congress government, did anyone in Jagtial receive Rs 2,500?” KCR said.

KCR said that the Congress came to power by making false promises. Instead of implementing the six guarantees and 420 promises, the Revanth Reddy Government was scrapping schemes successfully implemented by the BRS.

Urging voters to elect the BRS candidates Bajireddy Govardhan (Nizamabad), Koppula Eswar (Peddapalli) and Vinod Kumar (Karimnagar) to protect interests of Telangana in Parliament, KCR said that only the BRS could fight against the proposed plan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to divert Godavari water to Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

“Why in just five months the flood flow canal which the BRS transformed into a reservoir, dry up, why did crops fail, why did Beedi workers, weavers, and toddy workers face financial troubles? Young people must think and vote, don’t get carried away by false promises,” he said.

He said that the Revanth Reddy Government had no intention to fight for 10 percent reservations introduced by him, for tribals in the High Court.
