RAJANAGARAM: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu through his sister-in-law and State BJP chief influenced  the Centre to stop the ongoing welfare distribution in the state.

"They are putting pressure on the Election Commission to stall DBT financial assistance on ongoing welfare schemes of the state like pensions, and input subsidy among others," he said addressing an election meeting in Rajanagaram, of East Godavari district on Tuesday.

He said that people were keenly watching the drama orchestrated by Chandrababu Naidu. The public elected a government, which ruled the state for five years, but Chandrababu Naidu with his alliance partner in Delhi stirred up major controversies to inflict suffering on the people, YS Jagan pointed out.

"For the past five years, people have been receiving pensions at the doorstep. But because of Chandrababu Naidu, people are running pillar to post to collect the assistance," he said.

He exuded confidence that the affected elderly would vote in favour of the YSRCP to reinstate pension services. “Chandrababu has found himself embroiled in trouble by orchestrating such plots, leading a chief minister to engage in legal battles. This marks a new low in democracy, as we observe these developments," CM added.

The Chief Minister said that over the past 59 months, his Government devised a welfare calendar that outlined scheme distributions each month, which ensured that promises were fulfilled on time. “YSRCP will reclaim power on June 4 and within a week, will expedite all scheme distributions," asserted Chief Minister Jagan.
